Workshop 1: Raqs Vaudevilla - Foxy or Folkloric?; $40 for individual workshop
10:30 am - 12:00 pm

It's all how you handle the big stick. Cane, or 'Raks Assaya', is a traditional woman's dance art that offers tremendous creative expression to Fusion, Burlesque, and Vaudeville artists. Building on the bellydance vocabulary, we drill sustainable cane technique and explore combos with attitude. Great for developing both troupe precision and the theatrical face of fusion.

Workshop 2: Must-Have that Musicality!; $40 for individual workshop
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

To Embody the Music is the indisputable duty, honor, and pleasure of a bellydancer. Solid technique, slammin' glamor, studied staging... all these other elements of performance serve this glorious goal: Make the nuances of the music, its soul, visible to the audience! An overview of the principles of musical structure and the role of the artist is followed by a warm-up and hands-on exercises in listening, exploring, and expressing the arc, mood, and lines of the music.

Plus a workshop by special guest instructor Kelly Holder:

Workshop 3: Romany Folk Dance; $30 for individual workshop
