Why so many different classes?
At Unveiled, we find students learn better, and feel more relaxed, if they are in a class with others of similar experience and ability. The Unveiled Program has 4 levels; allowing the student to master techniques and be comfortable before moving to the next stage.

How do I know which class is right for me?
Pretty much, everyone should start with Level 1. Even if you have experience at another studio, or with another dance style, it is usually helpful to join the Level 1 class first. Different studios teach different techniques, and this will give you a chance to get used to things in a relaxed setting.

But I really think I should be in the level 2 class.
If you feel strongly about this, go ahead and contact me and we can discuss it.

We know that not everyone is at the same skill level, so at Unveiled you have the option of being in a class designed for your ability.

Belly Dance
Level 1: Class covers basic belly dance techniques, and an introduction to middle eastern rhythms, music, and dance history. This class must be taken prior to any other classes, unless approved by the instructor. A typical student will spend 1-4 sessions in the Beginner class.
Level 2: Includes more technique and begins combinations and layering. Finger cymbals are introduced. Continuation of middle eastern rhythms.
Level 3: Includes more complex techniques and combinations. Multiple layers, choreography, and advanced performances. Balancing props are used, as well as finger cymbals.
Choreography: Students will learn and practice dances that incorporate various techniques from class. Students will be eligible to perform at our seasonal performances. This class is only available as part of the Two Class Combo.

Please wear comfortable, but non-baggy, clothes that are suitable for dancing. (Baggy clothes make it hard to see the movements.)
Ballet slippers or bare feet are suitable.
