![]() CRYSTAL founded Unveiled Belly Dance after moving to Ann Arbor MI in 2004. By 2006 class enrollment had grown too large to continue teaching 'around town'; and Crystal opened the Unveiled Dance Studio in Ypsilanti Michigan. Unveiled Dance Studio specializes in belly dance and other cultural dance forms from around the world. Crystal drew from her experience as an ACE certified personal trainer, yoga, and Pilates instructor, to design and create a workout video specifically for belly dancers. The DVD was released in 2005 and sold out. She is currently working on a second video to be released in 2008. Crystal has taught workshops and special interest classes for the University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, Wayne State, and several private dance organizations. As a teacher Crystal has a strong belief in giving students a solid foundation for this dance. Her classes focus on building techniques that apply to all styles of belly dance. She believes that being a good teacher has more to do with your ability to see the needs of your students and to be able to reach them one by one on a personal levelCRYSTAL WILL BE TEACHING The Unveiled Method This workshop will cover: basic to advance movements, body alignment and poster, drills for improving technique, footwork and floor patterns, layering of movements with footwork, and conditioning exercises for dancers. All skill levels |

Although she is primarily a tribal dancer, she pulls from the various styles of belly dance that she has studied, as well as modern, hip hop, jazz, and bhangra dance. Kami performs both as a solo artist and also collaborates with other dancers. She is a guest artist for The Indigo, directed by Rachel Brice, and has also worked with Samantha Riggs of Boom Boom Bollywood on choreography and periodically performs with the company. Kami was nominated for Best Kept Secret"and Best Interpretive Artist" for 2005 by Zaghareet Magazine and won the title Entertainer of the Year 2005" at Wiggles of the West. Kami currently tours with The Bellydance Superstars.KAMI WILL BE TEACHING Funky Combos This fun workshop play with changing the intensity and timing of movements while combining slow snake-like movements with fast staccato moves. A few combos will be introduced that will flow together into a short choreography. |
![]() SONIA, according to some, is the secret weapon of the BDSS; others would say it's not a secret at all. She is not only incredibly versatile with extensive training in a host of dance styles; she is a gifted natural who can learn complicated routines with ease. She began her training with classical ballet, modern and jazz dance. Her ancestry drew her to Mexican folk, Latin styles and Flamenco. She also trained and performed Polynesian styles before graduating to Bellydance as her major love. Even before joining the BDSS as a founding member she had danced internationally including Japan and Dubai. With the Superstars she has performed in every show since inception meaning she has probably Bellydanced as a star performer to more people in more countries than any Bellydancer in history.SONIA WILL BE TEACHING Latin Fusion Sway your hips to this sultry and playful dance called the cha- cha. Sonia will cover the basics and incorporate these movements into a fun bellydance routine accompanied by the sounds of an arabic/cuban collaboration by Hanine y Son Cubano. All skill levels |
